Emerald Water Anglers are based in Seattle and offer the most expansive selection of fly fishing options in the state. With a staff of nine guides tackling trips locally out of Seattle, they have another 3-5 in Oregon running trips on the John Day, Umpqua, McKenzie, Willamette, Sandy and Grande Ronde Rivers in Oregon.

In fact, they offer over eighty domestic and international destinations from Louisiana and Colorado to Russia and Tahiti. Each location is selected for its distinctive setting, quality species and intimate experience. Present highlights include:

Mountain creek walk and wade trips: Emerald Water Anglers has spend a lot of time researching the mountain creeks in the cascades around Seattle and have found some real gems for anglers who like 0-3 wt. rods and to fish for beautiful completely native westslope cutthroat.

Puget Sound saltwater walk and wade trips: For sea run cutthroat and salmon from various beaches around the sound. Most beaches are within about 30 minutes from downtown Seattle.

Steelhead trips: On rivers all within two hours of Seattle. The Cowlitz, Skagit, Sauk, Stillaguamish, Skykomish are customer favorites, as are multi day trips to the Olympic Peninsula on the Hoh, Bogachial, Sol Duc and others. Several of the Emerald Water Anglers staff are accomplished Spey casters who can help anglers wanting to learn the latest craze in casting.

Trout trips: Yakima River for wild rainbow trout and the Cowlitz River for large sea run cutthroat trout are their two primary fisheries for float fishing for trout. While the Yakima has established a name for itself and the Cowlitz is much less recognized, it averages fish that are considerably larger.

Basin Lakes in Washington. Where most Seattle anglers go for their large trout fix. From March to November, these lakes are full of triploid, brown and tiger trout, many of which are regularly over 18 inches. Some lakes are walk and wade able but most require float tubes or pontoon boats. Some are road side while others require a short hike.

Emerald Water Anglers is fully insured and all guides are licensed and CPR/First Aid certified. For our Seattle based trips, they provide all transportation to and from hotels around the city, all flies, leaders and tippet, lunch and beverages on full day trips, beverages and snacks on half day trips, and have a full line of Simms/Patagonia waders/boots for demo and Winston/Sage/Scott rods for demo as well.
