As you may have already read in today's paper, Curt Gowdy has passed away at the age of 86.

I used to watch the guy doing outdoor sport shows when I was a kid and loved it!

Many of them were about fishing.

It has been so very long, but this is one guy/voice I will never forget....

listened to him as a kid and also a teen. Later on with some great football games.Enjoyed seeing him again on some flyfishing shows a few years back even though his son annoyed the heck out of me. Pretty cool though to see an 80 yr old throwing some line.

Absolutely

I grew up watching the American Sportsman. It fascinated me from day 1 and was probably the biggest influence in me ever owning a fly rod and a big bore rifle being as that my Dad and family are not outdoor people per se.

I will never forget Curt Gowdy.

I also remember watching the American Sportsman with my dad. Boy, it does bring back memories. He had one of those great voices.
