Hello. My Name is Morgan. I'm new here, although I've been fly fishing for a few years. How is everyone?
Not to get asking questions right away, but has anyone ever had a warranty experiance with Sage? They say lifetime, and my local fly shop said they would send the rod back. Any experiances. I'm gonna get a Launch by the way.
By the way, any Nova Scotians here?

littlebrooktrout,
I recently sent a rod to Sage for service. They did the work and returned the rod in a couple weeks. Overall I would rate the experience as near excellant.
Sage does charge a standard fee of $30 to cover the return shipping, packaging, and handling. (or so i think). This was in addition to the $15 it cost me to send the rod to them. So it wasn't really free.
Also the rod was a higher end model. I'm not sure what they offer for the less expensive models.
You can visit their webpage. The warranty information is listed there and you can find out first hand for yourself.

Hi Morgan,
Welcome to this site. I hope you find it as rewarding as we all do. On your question about the Sage warranty I'd have to agree with CG. I broke my top section in half of my Sage 379LL-3pc rod. After contacting Sage I sent in my rod with a $30 check. I received my rod back as good as new in 8 days! But this was a medium price range rod. I'm sure they will honor the warranty on the Launch too. Take-care!

Littlebrooktrout, first off is the local fly shop that told you this the same place you bought the rod, or a dealer for Sage? If yes to either one, all they are telling you (from what it sounds like) is to bring the rod to them and they will ship it out and you have the choice of them receiving it or ship it straight to you. It will take a little longer if they return it cause they usually try to ship a couple at a time and the same with a return to the store. My husband shipped his XP (woren out ferrules) through a local Sage selling store and it took almost 2 months to get it back. The $30. (shipping and handling seems to be the norm now a days), but if the store ships it , that might save you the frieght.
Good luck and tight lines,
Fly Goddess

I'm from the Valley. And yes, we do get SOME big brook trout (my biggest 17 inches). It doesn't matter, catching the small ones is fun too. My local fly shop said they would send a broken rod back, but I will go the other way and try not to break it.
