The Salmon Slayer
First of all, hello. biggrin.gif I'm new to the BB and I've got a question for yall.
I getting ready to purchase a couple of reels for my 7/8 weight rod. There are three reels that I'm gonna be choosing from and I'd like to know which is the best of the 3.

Orvis Battenkill 7/8 Mid Arbor IV Titanium
Redington AL 7/8 Large Arbor
FlyLogic FLO789

One is gonna be the main reel and the other a back up. Primarily gonna be using it for Silver/Sockeye/Chum Salmon and Steelhead. Out of the 3 which would you guys pick?
Silver Doc

SS,
Well, let's throw another wrench into the process. biggrin.gif
Agree with Rich. Also agree with Silver Doc, the Battenkill MidArbors are nice.
What about a Ross? They brought out the Cimarron in a Large Arbor not too long ago and if it is like the regular Cimarrons, then it is practically bulletproof. Might want to look one up?

I'm in with rich, the Fly Logic is the best of the three you mention. In that same price range, I might look at the Lamson Lioghtspeed.

I agree with dewey, you can't go wrong with a ross smile.gif

I would agree with the Ross proponets above and add Galvan to the mix. I think if you consider price, quality and customer service these two are head and shoulders above the rest.

Of the 3 you listed I'd have to say the Orvis. But I'd have to agree with Jukejumper here. The Ross and Galvan are built as bulletproof as a reel can get. Their customer service is second to none. I've also heard that Ross will fix their reels even if you are not the original owner. They feel their reel should never break down no matter what. Good-luck!
