I just found this forum yesterday and am an aspiring fly fisherman. I have been fishing ever since I can remember, and have always used light spinning gear. Having always wanted to learn to cast a fly, I never did because I knew it would become a passion, emptying my pockets. I have finally decided to take the plunge... I mean, I don't play golf, so why not spend the money I save not doing that on some gear, right?
I will get set up as soon as I get home in March, as I am currently working in Antarctica with my wife. We will be heading back to Charleston, SC, where I plan on plying the flats for tailing reds, and using my kayak to chase trout and whatever else I may run across. If anyone on here is in Charleston, maybe you'd like to volunteer some time for a lesson in casting... maybe to some fish? I could use all the help I can get!
Anyways, I just wanted to say hi and share a little of our time down here at the bottom of the world!
Jeremy
