Hi, I just bought a rod off of ebay that should come soon. It is a St. Croix Avid, 9' 5 weight. I payed $36.00 for it and was wondering if this is a pretty good deal. It was only used 20 times, and when I checked on Cabelas it sells for $200 new. Thanks!

Yeah, I guess that's true.

That particular rod has a legion of fans and anyone of them would gladly give you a lot more than $36 for it.

The avid is a great rod, I sure wouldn't let mine go for $36. Enjoy

Is that he new Avid that was redesigned for this year? I have an older one and like it althought it is not a great rod IMO. I payed 180.00 dollars for it 5 or 6 years ago. Can't beat 36 bucks for any rod however.
