ROSS all the way.

I was looking at the weights listed for those Orvis mid-arbor reels. They're fairly heavy compared to lots of reels for that line weight. I've also read that Ross may replace the Cimarron's drag system with the same type of sealed system found in their Evolution and Rhythm reels. If that's the model you're looking at...NO BRAINER! If you grab an older modeled Cimarron for a good price, they're good too. I had a C-1 from `94-`03. No complaints. Plus, Ross has fantastic service AND (unlike the "O") they stock spools for their discontinued models.

I just have to differ... I had two Cimarrons and happily sold them. I can say this is the only reel I've owned that had parts fall out when fishing. The cheap, plastic clicker gizmo just dropped out when changing spools.
This is something expected on a 'no name', low end import NOT a reel with the name 'Ross' on it.
