Hello All,
Was wondering what your favorite rod model from each of the various manufacturers/suppliers is. (Not concerned about line weight, rod length, or number of pieces).
Mine is as follows and is not in any particular order:
Scott - G
Winston - IM6/ WT
T&T - LPS
St. Croix - Avid
Cabela's - Fish Eagle Traditional (no longer available)
Powell - LTT (no longer available)
Sage - SP (no longer available)
Diamondback - Classic Trout (discontinued then reincarnated)
Orvis - never got the opportunity with these
G. Loomis - None (don't like em fast and didn't care for the others)
OK your turn,
CG

I have been doing some research on the Orvis Far and Fine since I aquired a old one a few weeks ago.
The taper of the Far and Fine has never changed over the life of the rod till it was redesigned in 2002. (rumor has it the new models cast the same)
At one time the F and F out sold all other Orvis rods combined.
The rod along with the Winston WT and Scott G have become classic graphite rods (if there is such a thing) and have outlived some worthy competitors

Winston -- LT series
Sage -- SLT series
T&T -- LPS series
G. Loomis -- Crosscurrent GLX series
That said, my single favorite rod right now is my Winston 8-weight Boron IIx. This is the neatest, most incredible, most enjoyable rod I've ever cast. I still like the LT series as a whole, however...they remind me of Cadillacs...so smooth.
My favorite reel company...Tibor
