Hello All,

Anyone use this line yet? Comments?

Would it matter if you were using a bamboo or graphite rod?

Bucko
I bought DT5 sylk to use on a bamboo rod.
The first thing I noticed was the limpness of it, second its slightly smaller in dia. than its counterpart in regular plastic line.
I followed a thread on Clarks board before I bought it. Some folks say the tip on their floating line sunk rather easily but I have not noticed it sinking any more readily than other lines....I believe a floating line that sinks is the result of dirt/filth rather than the fault of the line.
I have never owned a real silk line but I have cast it on several occasions. To me there is a difference in the way silk casts compared to Sylk. Real silk seems to load
rods well a line wt or 2 either side of its actual weight. Real silk is very easy to cast IMO. Real silk seems heavier than it actually is and makes a rasping noise as it goes through the guides.
Cortland has tried to come up with the rasping noise by putting small "bumps" on the Sylk line and it has somewhat of the same result.
I will say the Sylk cast very well on my 5 wt bamboo.
