Hi,
can someone do a comparison between the Loomis Metolius and the Scott E2 - both 9' 4wt rods please ?

I think Rich did a good job of giving you an assesment of the metolius. As far as the Scott E2 is concerned....... It too is a fast action rod - it loads up quickly and also generates a high line speed, but I think the main difference between the two and the remarkable thing about the Scott is that is has some life to it. That is feel. And that feel feels good when casting and fighting/playing fish. I think the 904 would be a great nymphing rod as well as technical dry fly tool. Forgive me for not having my catalogs at my disposal, but doesn't the loomis cost much more than the E2?
Hope this helps.

Thank you both,
I guess I'll be doing some casting to find out.
The E2 is about a 100 $ more than the Loomis.
