Hello All,

CF has a small fly box out that is approx 4.8"x3.7". This one has a center piece with foam slits on each side which doubles the capacity of the fly box. Total capacity, slots in foam, for this little guy is 564 flies!

At $2 a fly, when full, this little box will have $1,128 worth of merchandise stored inside it.... not to mention the $25 for the box.

I picked one up and plan to use it for everything I have that is small. It is rated for size 14-24 flies. I've started filling the slots but have a very long way to go.

So far, size 14 dry flies seem a little tight in this box so if you plan to use this size box (6 rows of foam) for dries you may want to start with size 16 as your largest fly.

I am dreading the day I lose this box..... ouch!

mbbishop,

I like the GPS beacon idea in case it ever goes astray.

I'm also having a fishing vest tailored with a pocket for a .45,

I've got that box, and really like it. I've decided to use it for nymphs and emergers, the hackle gets smashed on dries if there bigger than a 14 or 16. you can hold about every pattern you can think of but if you dont tie it could cost you a small fortune to fill, it took me a while to finally fill mine but I did, and its pretty good looking when you get there biggrin.gif

I have the large version of this box and it holds about 900 oddd flies. I have size 10 & 12's as well as 14 & 16's. The larger flies have to be placed every two slots otherwise they're too difficult to pull out when you need one. The box is waterproof and the quality is A1.
I have about 600 flies in mine, nearly all of them with tungsten beads. As you'd expect it's pretty darn heavy. I certainly wouldn't want to lose it, so I've engraved my name and telephone number on it. I'd like to think my fellow fly fishermen would be honest but I wouldn't bet my life on it. ohmy.gif
