T-Greg started a topic on Sierra Trading Post and all I could think of was wading socks. I've never seen or heard of socks designed for wading. I suppose we all try different socks looking for something acceptable.
The best socks I've found for wading have been a very heavy (300 denier) Polartec. I'm wondering; what socks do YOU wear wading? Have you found a winner?

I got a pair of the Redhead knee high wading socks from Bass Pro and they are great during colder weather wading conditions. They have wicking capabilities and thats a plus. During the warmer months I just wear a pair of regular cotton socks.

If it's real cold I wear a pair of wool socks and Simms Fleece socks underneath my waders. If it's warm weather I'll wet wade with a pair of thin neoprene socks and Simms Guard Socks.

i wear lamson-waterworks wading socks while i'm wet wading actually. adds a bit of warmth like a wet suit i imagine, feels nice and i think adds a bit of protection from loose gravel while i wade in my simms keen river wading sandals. i also wear a pair of lamson-waterworks short pants. basically a lycra style short pant like a cyclist's, and i wear those beneath cargo shorts, the non=cotton kind which dry quickly and has a bunch of pockets on the legs.
