I just purchased a four piece Scott fly fishing rod over the internet and in assembling it for the first time I found that the male ferrules will not insert all the way into the female ferrules. The fit is so tight that it requires two people to pull the pieces apart. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Wih internal ferrules there should be a noticable gap between the rod section where the Ferrule shows. Dont worry this is a common mistake, I had a friend of mine who pressured his rod pieces together too hard and it took several minutes of hard pulling to get the pieces apart.

The rod is an STS with internal ferrules. Thanks, everyone for your input.

I also keep a little chunk of parafin in the top of the rod tube and rub on the ferrules when needed.
