Hey I just picked up a few spools of frogs hair to change things up. I've been a loyal Orvis Superstrong for 2 years now but I decided to go with something different. I personally don't like using Florocarbon, and my fishing "mentor" you could call me has kind of stuck me on using Mono. The price is a bit higher on the lines, and me being a poor college student, I dont know if the extra 10 bux or so was worth it. Any input appreciated

. Btw I fish mostly still waters, unless I'm out on some of the rough sections of the deleware or croton in NY.
thanks in advance!

Frog Hair is # 1 in my books. One thing that no one has brought up is that UV kills all other mono. If brand "o" or any other brand has been out in the light, after about 1 year , toss it!!!!! Frog Hair is not effected by light and UV. The shelf life is years not nonths. E-mail Frog hair and get a knot sheet from them. They have put alot of work into knot's and their strenght. ( info@froghairfishing.com ) Their leaders are as good as the tippet, by the way.

I like Frog Hair for it's strength, stretch and suppleness. I haven't tried the new, harder Frog Hair but from 3X on down it works far better than any other tippet I've tried.

Has anyone tried Frog hair leader tying kit($98)? I am thinking about getting it. It seems cheaper than buying packs of knotted leaders and spools of tippets. I was afraid that it may get weak and break off, if I don't use it up within a year. But if what "the fly guy" had said is true(good for more than a year), it seems a very good choice.
