I've been casting on the snow a lot lately since it's still little too cold to go out to any of big river or lake around here in the North East.
Does anyone know if the snow/ice will cause any damage to the fly line? It seems to coil up easily in the cold weather though.

GRN,

Thanks a lot for your advice . I was bit worried. I will clean it with Glide line dressing and go cast some more tomorrow. laugh.gif
Can't wait to go fishing though. wink.gif

GRN,

Have fun in the warmer climate. More snow for us here in NorthCentral PA this coming week and temps back into the 20's. mad.gif

GRN,
I am sorry your trip down to the gulf did not turn out great. I totally understand your snow situation though. I would have to waded in waist deep snow to get tomy house if we left for more than a week as well. It sucks here:(

I went fishing today. It was so beautiful out and I had one strike on little brown stone fly dry. Although I did not catch any, it was worth going out. I guess living in the northeast makes you tough and makes you appreciate each little fun laugh.gif

By the way, I noticed that my line(orvis wonderline spring creek)had cracks on it. Not just one but at several spots. I don't know whether it's from casting on the snow but I only had this line less than 1 year. sad.gif I tried to take picture of the line but could not focus on the darn thing.

Does Orvis take back their lines too?

I'm just glad to see that I'm not alone casting in the snow. I think my neighbor is beginning to worry. :~)
