I have a 2 piece Pflueger Trion fly rod, relatively new. I am unable to disassemble the rod. It seems to be stuck.

Please provide any advice on how I can break this down properly.

Thanks!

It sounds like a two person job. Just twist each section in opposite directions, so the suction breaks. Make sure not to grip any guides because it can weaken the epoxied thread wraps.

If that doesn't work, use a 24 ounce framing hammer.

If you happen to break it apart, rub some parrafin wax on the male section of the ferruling from time to time. This will keep your rod from getting stuck.

Try taking a hair dry to the female ferrule area. The heat won't hurt the rod, but should expand the female section enough to unstick it. You might also try ice on the male section, as close to the junction as possible, without touching the female section. Good Luck!!

Sorry, meant a hair dryer.
