Need to be a bit more specific... little eastern 16-20" land locked salmon, or big ass sea run salmon?

You have to consider two things when choosing a rod:
1. what type/size/weight flies do you need to present effectively for your target species determines how much line weight (and rod weight) you need initially.
2. how much rod do you need to fight the fish effectively.

Since I have no idea about what you need to throw for trout and salmon there, and I'll venture a guess you don't really either yet, I would spend some time picking the minds of the local shops, they should be enthusiastic to help you out. There's a very real possibility that you can't effectively target both with one rod... good luck!

Alright thanks i think i need 7 or 8 wt thanks for the help

For trout, a 5wt will take care of most situations. An 8wt rod will take care of most salomon and is also good for warm water species like bass, and is also a good rod for any number of saltwater species such as red fish, snook, baby tarpon, sea trout, etc.

A 5 & an 8 wt. will take you most of the places you want to go. Fine tune from there after you have some more experience and decide what you like.

Have some fun!
