As i previously stated in another thread, i am new to the sport.
Could you please help me add to my fly collection?
What are the essential in Nymph, Dry, And Wet patterns?

I seem to really like(or the fish do), the Pheasant tail Nymphs, and hares ear.

the pheasant tail and hares ear nymphs were my favorite when i was first starting out, too. where are you fishing, though? like, are you fishing pa limestones, the new york catskills, rocky mountain mountain streams, etc.? i would say some basic flies are adams, elk hair caddis, a royal coachmen/wulff attractor pattern, and a stimulator for dry flies. for nymphs, i'd say hares ear, pt (pheasant tail), prince, a stonefly nymph, and a copper john. for wets, i'd say a hares ear, a pt, and a royal coachman. you might also want some streamers. i'd say get some wooly buggers for sure, some muddler minnows, and maybe a mickey finn pattern. good luck!

Thanks so much! Im 17, and live in Ky. Will be moving to wyoming after graduation of high school.
Fishing the Cumberland tail waters, and several tributaries of the cumberland and green river. Really nice bows, and browns.
