What knot do you use to tie a fly onto a shock tippet?
PAfisher
I'm no expert, but if you're not going real techmical or for an IGFA record fish, I'd use a blood knot or maybe even a surgeon's knot if the diameters are not too different. The size of the fish you expect to catch really makes a difference.

I seem to remember there was a good article on Tarpon leaders in the "American Angler" magazine this winter -- maybe January -- if you can find that around somewhere.

Maybe the second most fun fish to have on a fly (Atlantic Salmon #1). Good luck!

Use a bimini twist to add shock to line (definitely not a blood), or this handy variations....

And use uni-knot to tie fly to shock.
