Ok guys, 1 more dilema. Based on some advice from others, I am considering the following rods in addition to the Sage SLT (scott G2, the Winston BII x, Sage A-axis or ZLT). I am a little concerned about the flex of the SLT, but I can get one for $350, as opposed to one of the others for $675. My problem is I am unable to cast the SLT, so I can not see if it fits my casting style. Is it worth the price difference to see which of the other rods fits my casting style, or is the SLT versatile enough to fit any style, and such a bargain that it makes its purchase a no-brainer.

Thanks again for all of your EXPERT advise!!

The G2 is a great rod, and you can find a new one on eBay for in the $450 range. You might also consider an original Scott G. You can find a number of them used (but in almost perfect condition) for in the $300-$325 range. In my opinion, nothing is as sweet to cast as the original G.

The SLT is a great rod, and that sounds like a great price. For any significant amount of money, however, you should always cast a rod before you buy it. Good Luck!
