Wrap thread foundation from head to bend. Lead wire can be added to the underbody to weight the fly. Tie in a short section of red wool for a tail.
Tie in optional silver tinsel. It is going to be used to palmer the hackle later, so you can position it so that it is out of your way for now.
Attach saddle hackle tip end and chenille at tail. Wrap thread forward to eye.
Wrap chenille up to the head with chenille just touching itself.
Wrap hackle to head taking care to place it in between chenille.
Wind tinsel foreward toward the head, over the hackle.
Whip finish and apply head cement.
