Tie the thread in just behind the eye.
Take the thread down the shank to just opposite the point in neat touching turns.
Hold the hackle by the tip and gently stroke the fibres back.
Catch in the hackle by the tip and make no more than 2 to 2 1/2 turns.
Tie off and whip finish.
