Tie in 8/0 red thread and cover hook evenly from eye to bend

Tie in 3 inch piece of red 6/0 thread and wind 8/0 to front evenly to eye of hook

Bring 6/0 thread forward segmenting the body in 8 to 10 turns and tie off

Tie in 6-8 shafts of deer hair and trim off tips about half way down the body creating a wing case and leaving a small amount protruding at the eye

Trim evenly to form a head and whip finish just in back of the eye of the hook
