Begin thread and wrap back towards the bend of the hook

There you will tie in the peacock herl. Once tied in, wrap your thread back towards the eye stopping about 3/4 of the way up

Now wrap the peacock herl towards the eye of the hook. When you get to the thread end tie it off.

Get a good amount of the hair you have decided on and tie this in at the same place you tied off the herl.

Tie off the herl and begin with the hackle.

Tie in the hackle just in front of the hair.

Wrap the hackle around 4 or 5 times or until the desired girth is there. Tie it off.

You should still have enough room to finish the head. Use a whip finish to complete the fly.

End with head cement and you’re done!
