Attach thread near front of the hook and wind rearward to the point where the bend begins.

Tie in a length of fine gold tinsel.

Wind the tinsel partway around the bend of the hook and then back over itself to the tie-in point and tie it off. Clip the excess tinsel.

Tie in a brown cock hackle at the point where the tinsel was tied off and wind four or five turns.

Tie the hackle off and clip off the excess.

Tie in three to five peacock herls, depending on hook size directly in front of the brown hackle collar.

Wind the herl forward around the hook shank and tie off, leaving room for the front hackle.

Note: Twisting the herl around the tying thread before winding the body will add durability to the fly.

Tie in a white cock hackle immediately in front of the herl body and wind four or five turns.

Tie off and clip the excess hackle.
