Wrap peacock herl forward leaving less than 1/4 of the hook shank behind the eye exposed.
Tie off.
Wrap gold wire forward forming rib, tie off at the same place peacock herl was tied off.
Stack deer hair and tie in at the front of the body just covering the start of the peacock herl forming a hair wing.
Trim butt of hair wing to a taper and thread wrap to just short of hook eye, forming the thorax.

Tie in hackle, palmer the hackle forward over the thorax, tie off.
Wrap a thread head and whip finish.
