Damsel, King’s

  • Resource Types: Trout
  • Equipment Types: Trout
  • Brands: Trout
  • Description:

Begin by tying in a short piece of marabou for the tail. Next, cut a piece of thin skin 1/8" thick and tie it in at the base of the tail, followed by a piece of vinyl rib for the rib. For the underbody, dub a thin tapered body 2/3 up the shank and then pull the thin skin over top and rib. Now is a good time to put the eyes on, start by tying a piece of thin skin so that it over hangs the hook eye and then in front of that tie the eyes in right at the base of the eye.

Next, wind back to the base of the body and tie in a piece of ostrich herl; make a few wraps. In front of the herl, tie in some CDC for legs. For the first wing case, cut a piece of thin skin and tie it in, laying it flat half way along the top of the body. Now, tie in another piece of ostrich herl and wind up to and around the eyes. To finish, take the piece of thin skin from the front and pull it over the eyes, making a few wraps. For the final wing case, cut the remaining piece of the thin skin to just behind the start of the first one. Whip finish and head cement.
